1. Agreement to These Terms
By leaving a watch with us — whether in person at our workshop, or by sending an enquiry through our website and subsequently arranging drop-off or collection — you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Please read them at your own pace. If anything is unclear, we welcome your questions before any work proceeds.
2. Our Services
Rattana Studio offers mechanical watch inspection, servicing, and restoration at our workshop at 159 Silom Road, Suriyawong, Bangkok 10500. Our three service categories are:
- Movement Inspection and Service — inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and regulation of the movement
- Hand and Dial Refresh — cosmetic attention to hands, dials, and visible surface elements
- Vintage Movement Rebuild — full disassembly, component replacement where necessary, and careful reassembly of older mechanical movements
All work is carried out by our workshop team. We do not subcontract servicing to third parties. If a particular watch requires specialist attention beyond our current capability, we will tell you before any work is begun and suggest alternative options.
3. Estimates and Pricing
Prices for each service category are published on our website. These represent our standard starting prices. The final cost for your watch will be confirmed in writing after the initial assessment.
We do not proceed with any work that would exceed the agreed estimate without first contacting you. If we discover additional work that may be worth considering, we will explain what we have found and present the options clearly, with no obligation to proceed.
All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
4. Watch Intake and Assessment
When your watch is received, we record its condition in writing. We encourage you to note any pre-existing marks, damage, or cosmetic details before leaving the piece with us, and we will do the same. A copy of the intake record is available on request.
Assessment is carried out within a reasonable period following receipt. We will contact you with our findings and a proposed scope of work before any service begins. There is no charge for the initial assessment unless work has been explicitly agreed and begun.
5. Service Approval and Consent
We will not begin work on your watch until you have given your approval in writing — by email or message — for the specific work and cost described in our assessment. This protects both parties and ensures no surprises.
For vintage movement rebuilds, a brief written service plan is prepared and agreed before work begins, as described in our service description.
You may withdraw your approval at any time before work has commenced. Once work has begun, we reserve the right to charge for time and materials already expended.
6. Turnaround Times
Estimated turnaround times by service category are as follows:
- Movement Inspection and Service: typically 2–4 weeks
- Hand and Dial Refresh: typically 1–3 weeks
- Vintage Movement Rebuild: typically 4–10 weeks
These are working estimates. Complex or unusual movements, parts availability, and workshop scheduling may affect actual completion times. We will keep you informed if a significant delay arises, and we will not rush work to meet a deadline at the expense of quality.
7. Collection and Uncollected Items
We will contact you when your watch is ready for collection. Collection from our workshop is by arrangement during opening hours. If you would like your watch returned by courier, we can arrange this at your cost and risk; please discuss this with us in advance.
If a completed watch has not been collected and we have received no response to collection notices after 90 days, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable storage fee. We will make every reasonable effort to contact you before taking any further steps.
8. Payment
Payment is due in full upon collection of your watch. We accept cash (Thai Baht), bank transfer, and major credit or debit cards. A receipt will be provided for all payments.
For vintage movement rebuild projects, we may request a deposit of up to 30% of the agreed cost before work begins, particularly where specialist parts must be sourced. This will be discussed and agreed with you in advance.
9. After-Service Warranty
Following completion of a Movement Inspection and Service or Vintage Movement Rebuild, we offer a service warranty covering the regulated timekeeping of the movement. The warranty period and its specific scope will be set out in writing when your watch is returned.
The warranty does not cover physical damage, water ingress resulting from case damage pre-existing or occurring after service, wear to external components, or alterations made to the watch after it leaves our care. It also does not apply if the watch has been opened or adjusted by a third party following our service.
If you experience any concern with your watch's performance after collection, please contact us. We will assess the matter and advise you on next steps without obligation.
10. Limitation of Liability
We take considerable care with every piece entrusted to us. We carry appropriate insurance for watches held at our premises.
In the unlikely event of damage or loss occurring while a watch is in our care, our liability is limited to the fair market value of the watch at the time of intake, based on available reference data. We are not liable for sentimental value, consequential losses, or costs arising from delays beyond our reasonable control.
If you believe your watch has a value significantly above its market price, we recommend discussing insurance arrangements with us at intake.

12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when your watch is received by us governs that service engagement. Updates will be published on this page with a revised date. We encourage you to read these terms before each new service, as they may have changed since your last visit.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from our service relationship will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
